From Design to Detail — Our Promise of Perfection
Marmara Sterling celebrates the art of handcrafted jewellery, uniting exquisite European crystals with the enduring beauty of sterling silver. Sustainability is at the core of our practice, with 99% recycled silver forming the foundation of our creations. Inspired by contemporary trends in crystal shapes and colours, each piece is thoughtfully designed to reflect the unique identity and timeless elegance of the Marmara Sterling brand.
Sterling silver
All our earrings, pendants and rings, among with most of the other metal parts, are manufactured using 99% recycled silver. Silver is called sterling silver when the silver content in the metal is equal to or more than 92,5% (hence the name 925 silver). Thus all of our jewellery bears the 925 stamp, alongside with the name stamp of our company (required by the Estonian Law of Precious Metals).
Rhodium plating
As sterling silver alone oxidizes very easily, which can turn the metal black, all of the silver parts in our jewellery are rhodium plated. Rhodium is a rare metal (in fact more expensive than gold) that doesn’t scratch and prevents the jewellery from oxidizing, so it will maintain it's shiny look for a longer period of time.
Gold plating
Half of our jewellery selection features gold plating, catering to clients who prefer gold. This is achieved through a process akin to rhodium plating, but with 18K gold instead of rhodium. Details about the various platings are available under the individual product information.
Our Zirconia
We use the most diamond-like zirconia stones in our products. We guarantee that their production, materials, cutting, and polishing are of the highest quality, ensuring that these gems will last for years. Their colors will continue to delight with exceptional resistance long after your purchase.
Stainless steel springs
Stainless steel is a hypoallergenic material, widely used for jewellery and watches. We use stainless steel instead of silver in the clips of our Alcantara bracelets and in the springs of all basic earrings. Silver is too soft to be used for this purpose so this process is needed to ensure you don't lose your earrings.
